My latest photo for my project, it was a pretty lazy day so it’s nothing special.
#project365
January 11th, 2010Project 365
January 2nd, 2010I’ve decided that this year i want to become a better photographer, so i’ve decided to take part in project 365. The aim to take one photo a day for the next year, here are my first two. Hopefully i’ll get better over the year….Please feel free to comment
Not bad for a first attempt
A little present
December 15th, 2009I’ve received a little pressie today, and to say i’m happy is an understatement. If not for the thought then for the gesture. I’m happy and will say a proper thanks to the person if it’s ok for me to mention their name……In the meantime, what did i get. Take a look

I think you’ve worked out it’s a Fedora Baseball cap
**UPDATE** yes yes ok it was Tatica, thank you :*
Fedora/Community/Friends
December 7th, 2009You come across many people being part of a community, some you speak to a lot and some you don’t. As a amateur photographer and image editor i’ve become friends or come to know various people who inspire me to do great things. Mairin, NIcu and Tatica to name a few. One of the things that has given me a few ideas is the brain child of Maria (Tatica) and that’s her project 365. To put it simply it’s a photo every day for a year. Something i’ve decided to try next year. So as a thanks, and just coz she’s a mate, here is a little photo :p

Have you yet?
December 7th, 2009fedora = Serious + Fun
December 4th, 2009Now all the seriousness of the town halls and elections has finished apart from the voting which i believe starts tomorrow, and it’s friday. It’s time to kick back and have a little fun, so here is the start of another meme
Take a funny photo of your self and blog it

Have a good weekend
Virus AGAIN!
December 2nd, 2009Well it’s happened again, another family member has a virus….this time it’s my parents laptop. To be honest i don’t have a problem fixing it but it’s a pain, especially as they have lots of images/docs on it that could be potentially infected….*sigh*
It’s either going to be a case of fixing it and educating them on safe web/email usage or putting on Fedora which to be honest is my prefered method However as they are my parents they are not really that maliable to change. I’m sure hundreds of you have come across this before, how did you persuade your parents to move to a free and secure os, knowing they don’t care about cost, freedom, microsofts shadey work ethics (insert reasons to love fedora and hate MS here)
I might have a battle on my hands……let war commence lol

Fedora 12
November 21st, 2009I’ve updated my laptop to Fedora 12 and to be honest it was quite painless however, when i rebooted and logged in, errrr *puke* what the hell has happened to all the icons in the gnome-panels? There is too much spacing, hmm ok not to worry i’ll just move them all, wtf, i can’t move them, is that the default? yup it is.
The panel now adds padding between applets and between icons in the notification area. The padding can be removed with the following commands
gconftool-2 –type int –set /apps/panel/toplevels/top_panel/padding 0
gconftool-2 –type int –set /apps/panel/toplevels/bottom_panel/padding 0
gconftool-2 –type int –set /apps/panel/applets/systray/prefs/padding 0
Phew back to normal
