Twitter / Linux

If you know me then you’ll know i’m a fan of twitter, but i’m not a great fan of the current linux clients twitux to name a few. I am however a great fan of tweetdeck, but alas it’s a real pain to get working as you have to install Adobe Air first…yuck.

So what’s the alternative…..well let me mention the one i’m currently using, it’s web based so there is nothing to install. What am i using? http://hootsuite.com.

Put it simply is like tweetdeck but web based, ok so there are things that are missing from it such as the facebook integration, but that’s ok.

Have more that one social networking site? yeah i do, twitter, facebook, identi.ca etc etc. The good thing about this application is that it supports http://ping.fm and therefore updates all of them when you create a tweet….great news…

So far i like it, i hope you will to :)

Think you forgot to mention pidgin. thers a googlable hack for it that lets you talk to and read from twitter and identi.ca just as yet another “friend” on your contact list. Initially it made pidgin horribly unstable, but the last month more or less flawless. If you use pidgin anyway thers nothing that beats it.

i love to Twitter my day to day activities to my friends and followers. Twitter is much better than blogging because it is direct to the point and does not require you to type so many unnecessary words.
