Daniel Larsson at SpiderOak Inc here!
Just wanted to thank you for the mention and add that for DropBox users a nice surprise will be that we do NOT clump all your files together in a 'Sync Folder' but keep your full folder structure!

Our service also keeps complete historical versioning meaning that will always be able to retrieve historical versions of your files!

If you own a blog or website, or just happen to be an avid marketing guru we also have an affiliate program for you at https://spideroak.com/affiliate - free to join and up to 50% payouts!

If you have any questions feel free to email me at; daniel@spideroak.com

I wonder about the security implications. I see it has "zero-knowledge" data encryption but who owns the key? I'd probably encrypt my data before uploading it, anyway.

Personally, I found SpiderOak to be a bit buggy and eccentric. Personally, I'm much happier with Dropbox, whihc also allows for multi-PC syncing and offsite backup, since it stores your data in the cloud as well.

Personally, I have my system drive, and a separate internal drive for media. My home folder gets rsynced to a folder on the media drive nightly. Also the full contents of the media drive are rsynced to a removable HDD nightly after the home rsync. And lastly, critical documents and pictures are synced via Dropbox to my work PC and in the Dropbox cloud itself.

You'd need to be careful that you're not sync'ing certain sensitive data as you might accidental breach the data protection act by not holding the data in the country of origin.

Wow. I've tried Dropbox and Jungledisk over the past couple of months and this seems like the ultimate program: it's features both Dropbox and Jungledisk functionality and it's fairly affordable. Me like. Thanks for pointing me to this! It pays to read Fedora People ;-)
