Vmware console

Vmware console

Mental note, don’t try to install the windows version of the vmware server console under wine it b0rks your system.  Well it did mine :(   Always try and go with the native install no matter how rubbish the installer is.

not sure what your issue was with the native installer for vmware console. i’m running the latest and greatest (server and console) on 8.0.4. with no issues. there was some futzing i had to do, but found it easily on ubuntu forums. personally, i only use win32 apps under wine as a last resort. my experience is that even when you get them started, you usually run into some issues (display, stability) somewhere up the road.

thanks for an interesting blog. i enjoyed the tomboy entry. there was a bit to do beyond your article for syncing with other machines, but its a worthwhile effort. if you want notes, i could give them to you for an update.

now onto getting them synced with evolution.
