Like you, I am not a technical guru, but there are ways to help out, and at the same time build up your profile to achieve membership. I am a co-editor of the Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuWeeklyNewsletter/Issue94. Every week we put together the issue and publish it on Sundays. If you are interested in helping out, we can get you started on collecting different stats and meeting information. We will show you right where to find the information and how to add it to the issues wiki page. You don't need any writing experience, only the desire to help, and of course dependability. It will only take about an hour or two of your time each week to complete the tasks. Send me an email at the address I provided if you are interested, and I will get back to you with the IRC channel information where you can come and chat with us about what's involved.
