Fedora9 + Firefox

Fedora9 + Firefox

While Fedora 9 appears to be a great release they have to go and spoil it by bundling Firefox 3, what a bag of shite that is turning out to be, especially on my laptop, i can hardly type a sentence/URL without it locking up….garbage.  Luckily i’ve installed the epiphany web browser which doesn’t appear to be behaving in the same way….If it was a problem with Fedora i wouldn’t moan, but it’s not, imo it’s what ever distro it’s bundled with has the same problem.  How many “but it’s only beta” comments am i going to get i wonder?

    Sorry, I couldn’t help myself :P

Seriously though, I have experienced the odd lock-up with FF3 on Ubuntu, though it seems to have settled down now. I started using FF3 instead of Epiphany, I was using Epiphany as I disliked FF2. I am actually quite liking FF3, hence the move back from Epiphany, I especially like the improved GTK+ handling. Still, having said that, I’m not totally unsympathetic to those having issues with FF3 — lucky thing we’re running Linux and have a whole bunch of browsers to choose from :)
