Yesterday i bought a copy of Vista OEM it was cheap and installed it, i use a few windows apps that don’t work under linux using wine, or they don’t have native linux versions. To be honest i do like windows vista, but one thing i’m not really keen on is it’s speed. There always appears to be a lot of disk activity, i could track it down, but can’t be really bothered it’s not effecting things too much.
I do have Linux dual booting with Vista, as there are only a few apps that i need windows for, the day to day things i’ll still use Linux.
Some days, i think why the hell i use Windows, and other it’s me moaning about Linux i don’t think there will ever be an OS that i totally rave about…
Oh yeah, i’m at work till midnight and that sucks….
“oh that’s nice”……”it’s a poodle”……”I like it

vista still does not have a journalling filesystem thus has to defragment its drive all the time, thats prolly the extra disk accesing. prime example of the redmond mentality, they can’t put journalling filesystem on an advert (as its not 3d and wooshing past you) thus why bother implimenting it…
